Overlay Customization Guide

What you'll learn: How to configure every element of the data overlay to match your workflow.


Overview

The overlay displays real-time information on your captures. Every element is configurable through Settings (gear icon).


Typography

Changing Font Style

  1. Open SettingsTypographyFont Pairing
  2. Select from available options:

Map Configuration

Toggle Map Visibility

Settings → Map → toggle Show Map

Map Styles

Compass Configuration

Overlay Positioning

Size (Portrait Mode)

Available sizes: 0.75x, 1.0x, 1.25x

Note: Landscape mode uses 1.0x fixed for consistent positioning.

Alignment

Options: Leading, Center, Trailing


Branding & Logo

Adding Your Logo

  1. Settings → BrandingAdd Logo
  2. Select image from your photo library
  3. Adjust position if needed

Supported formats: PNG, JPEG
Best practice: Use transparent PNG (approx. 200x200px) for professional documentation.

Removing Logo

Settings → BrandingRemove Logo


Quick Note Templates

Quick Note Templates allow you to pre-fill frequent site observations and status updates.

Using Templates

  1. Tap the Note area on the camera screen.
  2. Tap the Templates (document) icon.
  3. Select a template to apply it immediately.

Alias Expansion (Power User Shortcut)

Each template can have a 2-4 letter Alias.

  1. In the note input field, type the alias (e.g., dr).
  2. Double-tap the spacebar.
  3. The alias expands to the full text (e.g., 000 | PN 00 | DRILLING).

Character Limits

The overlay supports notes up to 100 characters. This limit ensures the data remains legible and doesn't obscure the center of your documentation.


Project Profiles

Project Profiles allow you to save and switch between different sets of project and client metadata quickly.

Managing Profiles

  1. Settings → Project Profiles
  2. Add Profile (+) to create a new preset
  3. Tap a profile to set it as Active

Each profile stores:

  • Project Name
  • Client Name
  • File Name Prefix
  • Default Quick Note (Optional)

Quick Switch

You can also switch profiles directly from the main camera screen by tapping the active project name in the top overlay (if enabled).


Project Information

Project Name

Displays on every capture for organization. Pre-filled from the active Project Profile.

  1. Settings → ProjectProject Name
  2. Enter your project identifier

Client Name

Settings → ProjectClient Name

Resetting to Default

To quickly clear the Project Name and Client Name fields:

  1. Settings → Project
  2. Tap Reset to Default

Field Visibility

Control which data fields appear on the overlay:

Best Practices

For Documentation

  • Enable all fields for maximum proof-of-work value
  • Use SF Mono for data precision
  • Enable map for location context

For Minimalist Captures

  • Disable weather and compass if not needed
  • Hide map for cleaner overlay
  • Use smaller magnification (0.75x)
